Underworld Jiu Jitsu
At Underworld Jiu Jitsu, we believe there’s no limit to the benefits that martial arts can bring to your mind, body, and spirit. And even better: we believe you can have a lot of fun doing it! We love watching our students feel challenged, inspired, and ultimately thrive from the BJJ lessons they’ve learned. Our Jiu-Jitsu classes are rooted in structure and safety without being overly strict or intimidating. We offer a friendly and welcoming environment for BJJ training that empowers students and fills them with self-confidence they never had before. Everyone who takes classes at Underworld will learn valuable grappling techniques AND valuable social and life skills that will last forever. We’re extremely proud to bring our Jiu-Jitsu heritage, history and expertise to Conroe, Tx!
Underworld Jiu Jitsu
Our History
Underworld Jiu Jitsu is Lead by Scott Pelzel a Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Victor Pozas. We are an affiliate school under The Darkside. Victor is the owner and head coach of The Darkside and is a Black Belt under grappling legend Dean Lister and first opened an academy in Texas in 2011.
Our Jiu Jitsu revolves around the concept of training without the use of the Kimono. Our belief is that this will bring our students a more realistic view of fighting and actual overall practicality of self-defense scenarios. Because we believe that you do not need the use of the Gi/Kimono to fully experience the essence of Jiu Jitsu, our philosophy branches off from the traditional and focuses on modern techniques that will mold you into a true martial artist.
